Assistant Engineer (Civil) Recruitment Examination, 2020 conducted by West Bengal Public Service Commission for the year of 2020.

Qualifications for the Post
Essential:
- A degree in Civil Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Desirable
One year’s Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical only for PHE engineering experience and P&RD Departments
Assistant Engineer Civil Examination Center
The Written Examination will be held in Kolkata centre only in the month of November, 2020 or thereabout followed by the Interview. The Interview of the candidates selected on the basis of the results of the written examination will be held at the Commissions office in Kolkata.
Assistant Engineer Civil Recruitment Procedure
The Examination will be held in two successive parts, viz.,
- Written Examination (Multiple choice objective type questions) – The question paper will be of the objective type (multiple choice) comprising 100 questions. Full marks will be 200 for 100 questions of 2 marks each. The paper will be of 2 hours duration.
- Interview – The full marks for interview will be 100
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and interview.
Result of the Examination
The names of the candidates called to Interview and those recommended for appointment will be published provisionally subject to determination of eligibility of the candidates in all respects and verification of original certificates etc. If at any stage of such verification any candidate is found ineligible, his/ her candidature/ allotment will be cancelled.
Preference regarding different departments will be obtained from candidates at the time of interview.
