West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme – Eligibility and Application Process
The government of West Bengal announced Student Credit Card will be launched on 30 June 2021. At a press conference, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the students’ credit card project has been approved by the cabinet. This project will be launched from June 30.

What is West Bengal Government Student Credit Card Scheme?
Mrs Banerjee said students will be able to avail student credit cards from class ten onwards. Students will get a loan of up to 10 lakh rupees and they do not need any guarantor. The government will be the guarantor.
Students can use this money for higher education of undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational courses, diploma courses, doctoral and post doctoral levels. This credit card can be used to study not only in the country but also in foreign institutions.
However, only those who have been in West Bengal for 10 years or more can apply for a credit card.
This card can be availed till the age of 40. Students have to repay the load one year after getting the job. The loan has to be repaid within 15 years.
